Volunteering

A large component of the New Forest Remembers Project and the key to its success will be your help as volunteers in various essential parts of the project. These range from the recording and assessment of surviving World War II structures and locating forgotten sites identified by modern survey techniques to collating oral histories, images and videos focused on the New Forest during the war.

Additional work will aim to make sure that all information gathered for the project is made widely available to the general public, residents, community groups and local schools.

We have identified six varied volunteer roles for the 'New Forest Remembers' Project:

Alongside these roles there will also be regular opportunities to receive additional training, places on local excavations or other archaeological projects and a chance to meet and socialise with other people.

If you would be interested in volunteering to help us with any of these then please read the volunteer policy below and then complete the interest form and return to us:

We look forward to hearing from you.
