The National Park's special qualities
A healthy environment
fresh air, clean water, local produce and a sense of ‘wildness’
Quality of life within the National Park is underpinned by the overall environmental quality of the area.
The coastal location and prevailing south westerly winds means that air pollution is generally low, and water quality in the New Forest rivers and streams, and on the coastal beaches, is also good.
The variety of food and other products produced and sold locally continues to increase, giving the opportunity for people to live healthily and sustainably and at the same time support the local economy.
