New Forest sustainable schools outreach
Total project costs £22,030
Fund grant £15,999 (73% of total)
Minstead Study Centre recently piloted a new approach of working with schools to encourage them on the journey towards being sustainable schools and being part of a larger sustainable community.
This project will build on that successful pilot to work with fourteen New Forest schools. Each school will undertake an inspirational visit to Minstead Study Centre and will receive tailor-made support to establish a ‘Change Team’ of students and staff to plan and implement a program of sustainability improvements.
The project will help schools make changes relating to food and drink; energy and water; travel and traffic; purchasing and waste; buildings and grounds; local wellbeing; and, the global dimension. The project will take place over twelve months beginning in March 2009.
