Brand New Forest
We live and work in a very special place; and we need a vibrant and resilient local economy to help keep it that way!
‘Brand New Forest’ intends to inspire a sense of loyalty to local business and create a sense of New Forest pride.
In carrying out its key role of looking after the National Park so that everyone can continue to appreciate and enjoy it, the Authority has a responsibility to foster the economic and social well-being of communities within the Park.
There are six strands to the ‘Brand New Forest’ campaign, which was initiated by New Forest District Council:
- Do better business locally
- Shop and buy locally
- Enjoy yourself locally
- Eat and grow locally
- Save energy locally
- Excercise locally
So whether it is doing more business locally, buying locally produced food, enjoying fantastic local leisure days out or striving for a cleaner, greener way of life, there are ways for everyone to get involved in supporting the campaign.
As well as supporting the spirit of the campaign, the National Park Authority is an active participant.
The Authority buys many of its goods and services locally.
The Authority hosts and supports the New Forest Marque team that works to promote local produce.
The Authority is working hard to minimise its own carbon footprint and to help others do the same through its planning service and other advice.
Through its core role in protecting the landscape, wildlife and culture of the Park so people can appreciate and enjoy it, the Authority is at the heart of efforts to encourage people to enjoy themselves locally with great days out.
