Frequently asked questions - teachers
Q1. Where can I find information about the National Park to support curriculum work?
The factsheets are specifically designed to target the key issues and themes relating to the New Forest National Park whilst ensuring that they tie in with curriculum requirements. These are categorised into different themes to enable easier access to the relevant section. These are aimed at KS3 and above and are a useful source of background information for staff. The KS2 fun packs support curriculum work across KS1 and 2 and investigate a range of fascinating topics through informative, high quality resources.
Q2.Do you provide class resources?
All the resources on the website are downloadable and please feel free to copy them for educational use. We are also able to send multiple copies to school on request. If you would like information for a specific project please get in touch with us directly. We welcome student enquiries; however for large groups we would appreciate a collective approach rather than individual requests.
Q3. What educational opportunities exist in the National Park?
There are a range of options available to group leaders wishing to bring young people into the New Forest National Park. The guide to learning Outside the Classroom in the New Forest National Park provides a one-stop directory of the educational opportunities available within the Park. The National Park Authority is also able to meet groups in the Park for specific National Park related studies (see below for details). If you are planning a self-led visit have a look at the planning your visit section for advice and guidance to ensure a smooth trip
Q4. What educational visits can the National Park Authority offer?
Our team of education specialists cater for all ages and abilities. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs and curricular objectives of the group following discussion with the group leader, and can include fieldwork, and activity sessions as well as “walks and talks”. Follow up and pre visit sessions are also available to local schools. For more information or to discuss your individual requirements please contact us.
