Coastal change

The New Forest coastline hasn’t always looked how it does now! In fact the view we enjoy today would have looked very different to the Romans and even your great great grandparents.

How exactly has our coast changed over the past centuries? What did the coast look like in the past? What will the coast look like in the future? The answers to these questions are considered in this activity pack.

The subject of coastal change is a fascinating one and is particularly relevant to our local children and to current issues. This activity pack considers how our coastline looked thousands of years ago, how it is changing and the impact we ourselves have on this change. Craft activities, activity sheets and experiments make this topic an original and different experience to teach, as well as giving children the opportunity for independent learning.
