About the Arts Festival

The New Forest is a hub for artists and craftspeople working across a wide variety of media and has a rich history of inspiring artists.

The Arts Festival is an opportunity to celebrate and promote the wealth of talent in the area and for everyone to get involved.

It brings together a wide variety of art forms celebrating the New Forest’s heritage in unique venues including a castle, tree house, beach hut, garden, pub, museums and arts centre.

The types of events range from music, painting, crafts, textiles, film, photography, theatre, talks, exhibitions and workshops, with lots of opportunities for people to take part.

Arts Festival Steering Group

The Arts Festival is a partnership between the New Forest National Park Authority and the Hampshire Cultural Trust, New Forest District Council, SPUD, Forest Forge theatre company, the New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst, Forest Arts in New Milton, hArt, and St Barbe Museum in Lymington.

Our Past, Our Future

The Arts Festival is one of many projects within the Landscape Partnership Scheme called Our Past, Our Future, led by the New Forest National Park Authority with 11 key partners. Our Past, Our Future is funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, enabling the protection and enhancement of the landscape, and the encouragement of residents and visitors to discover and safeguard the Forest’s fascinating heritage.
