Paper bags

Many shops in the popular village of Burley are using paper bags that carry a message to customers about how they can help to protect the New Forest for the future.

Originally supplied by the New Forest National Park Authority, the bags are made of recycled paper and come in three sizes.

The small bags celebrate the commoning animals and the need for everyone to drive carefully, while the medium-sized bags highlight the rich grazing that supports the famous New Forest ponies and the importance of not feeding them human food.

The large bags, which focus on the rare ground-nesting birds in the National Park, advise people to keep to tracks during the breeding season to avoid disturbing the birds.

The remaining stock of these bags is kept by Face the Music, in Burley. Please contact them if you have a retail outlet in the New Forest and would like to convey these important messages to your customers.
