Sailing and watersports

The Solent is one of the best known sailing areas in the World.  Within the National Park, there are public launching slips at Lepe, Calshot, Ashlett and Keyhaven.  There is some limited mooring for visiting craft.  Regattas and racing events are held in the summer at Keyhaven, and at various points along the coastline you can view the boats of the famous Isle of Wight 'Cowes Week'.

The New Forest Coast is popular for watersports, such as wind-surfing, kayaking and canoeing.  Calshot Activities Centre, operated by Hampshire County Council, offers courses in these activities.
