Planning your visit

The New Forest National Park is located in the south of England in the counties of Hampshire and Wiltshire.

These 'Visiting' web pages will give you an idea of what the New Forest has to offer, and why it is such a special place.  They will point you in the direction of places to find out more, and highlight ways in which you can enjoy the New Forest in a 'forest friendly' way.

Over 13 million people now visit the New Forest National Park each year to enjoy its unique landscape and cultural heritage, and to savour the peace and tranquillity.  The vast majority of visitors come by car and increasing use of vehicular transport within the National Park can threaten the very qualities that attract people in the first place.

Using public transport will help to protect this special environment.  It also allows you to relax and see the countryside from a different perspective.  The New Forest National Park Authority is committed to promoting sustainable ways of enjoying and understanding the New Forest.
