new forest breakfast

Food and drink

Enjoying fresh and seasonal produce is a great way to experience the New Forest and support some of our local farmers and commoners.

Look out for the New Forest Marque which is awarded to quality produce which has been grown, reared, caught, brewed or produced within the New Forest. Many shops, pubs, hotels, bed-and-breakfast, and catering establishments now stock produce carrying the Marque. Alternatively you can buy direct from the producers at one of the local farmers' markets. Call 023 8028 5468 for market details.

The New Forest Marque and New Forest Farmer and Producer markets are two of a number of initiatives which have been developed through Forest Friendly Farming

Forest Friendly Farming was set up in 2001 to develop practical ways of supporting farming, commoning and woodland management in the New Forest. The project is co-ordinated by the New Forest National Park Authority and supported by local volunteers and a small staff team, who are employed by the National Park Authority, New Forest District Council and Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
