Policies
The New Forest National Park Authority is currently covered by the Local Plans of
- New Forest District Council (NFDC)
- Salisbury District Council (SDC)
- Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC)
The policies in these plans are likely to apply for their respective areas until at least 2008.
The links below are to the Local Plans where key policies have been extracted, for immediate reference, which relate to landscape, trees and hedgerows in the New Forest National Park.
In addition to these District or Borough-wide policies, there will be references to landscapes, trees, hedgerows and woodland within site specific policies e.g. New Forest District Council policy BE-1 Brockenhurst Village D 13.5, D13.6 D13.7
New Forest District Council
Local Plan - text and maps adopted 2005
Part D contains the relevant policies and include NF-E4 on landscape character.
Part C, district wide policies includes policy DW-E6, DW-E7, DW-E8, DW-E9 on landscape, trees and hedgerows.
Salisbury District Council
Local Plan - text and maps adopted 2003.
Policy C6, C8, C9 in the Rural and Natural Environment chapter mentions landscape hedges and trees, and policy CN17 in the Conservation chapter covers Tree Preservation Orders.
Test Valley Borough Council
Local Plan - text adopted 2006
Within chapter 8 (Design) policy DES-08 covers trees and hedgerows.
