Local Development Scheme
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires local planning authorities to prepare a Local Development Scheme. This is a publicly available outline programme identifying which local development documents will be produced, and when. The Scheme sets out the Authority’s planning policy development and review priorities for a three year period, and is to be rolled forward annually.
The New Forest National Park Authority’s
Local Development Scheme (311 KB) was brought into effect on 23 February 2007. Note there have been some changes to the timetable and documents to be produced, which are set out in an
outline timetable (33 KB). The LDS will be formally revised once the proposed changes to the planning system have been enacted.
The LDS
outline timetable (KB) indicates the New Forest National Park Authority will be producing the following new documents as part of the Local Development Framework:
- Core Strategy
- Detailed Designations and Policies Development Plan Document
- Waste Plan Development Plan Document – jointly with Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils
- Minerals Plan Development Plan Document - jointly with Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils
- Design in the National Park Supplementary Planning Document
