Design and access statement

New legislation by the government now requires applicants to provide a Design and Access Statement to accompany all planning applications within the "designated areas" (which includes the National Park) with the following exceptions:

  • change of use applications ( where no building works are involved)
  • proposals for engineering or mining operations
  • advertisement applications
  • tree work applications
  • storage of hazardous substances

Below is a guidance notice that has been produced by the Authority to assist applicants in the preparation and submission of Design Access Statements.
