Looking After
The purposes of the New Forest National Park are:
- To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Park
- To promote understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities
In addition the National Park has a duty to foster the social and economic well-being of local communities within the Park.
The National Park is funded by central government and employs a team of specialists in conservation, recreation, education and communications.
The National Park relies on the support of everyone who lives and works in or visits the New Forest to help safeguard its special qualities for the present and for future generations.
