Draft National Policy Statement on Ports
The draft National Policy Statement for Ports sets out the broad need for ports capacity looking ahead to 2030 and beyond, taking account in particular of forecasts of port freight demand and the regional and local economic benefits of port activity. It also sets out the various potential adverse impacts of port development should be addressed by applicants with a view to avoiding, mitigating and where necessary compensating for such impacts. The consultation documents can be viewed at the Department of Transport website.

ABP Port of Southampton Masterplan 2009 - 2030
Associated British Ports (ABP) has published for consultation their draft Port of Southampton Masterplan 2009 – 2030. The draft sets out the medium to long term plans for the Port and the draft Masterplan and supporting documents can be viewed online at www.southamptonvts.co.uk.. The consultation period last until 13 November 2009. The New Forest National Park Authority is a consultee on the draft Port Masterplan and the Authority’s formal consultation response can be viewed below

Bournemouth Airport Draft Noise Action Plan (July 2009)

The operators of Bournemouth Airport have published for consultation their draft Noise Action Plan. The Noise Action Plan seeks to establish if the current noise impacts from aircraft movements associated with Bournemouth Airport is acceptable, and whether any further action is required. The consultation document can be viewed at www.bournemouthairport.com and the consultation lasts until 21 October 2009. The New Forest National Park Authority is a consultee on the draft Noise Action Plan and the Authority’s formal consultation response can be viewed below
