Our work
The New Forest National Park Authority is responsible for a range of functions in its work to conserve and enhance the New Forest and to promote understanding and enjoyment of the things that make it special.
As well as our nature conservation and visitor information responsibilities, our services include education, recreation and archaeology and we manage a grants scheme to encourage sustainable ways of living and working in the National Park. We are the local planning authority for the part of the New Forest covered by the National Park.
