Finance
As the Authority is financed by the public, it has a statutory duty to ensure that this money is used economically, efficiently and effectively and is safeguarded and properly accounted for. The Authority has to conduct its business in accordance with the law and with regard to proper standards. The Authority also has to strive for continuous improvement in the way it runs its operation. The Authority's main source of funding is a direct grant from the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
