Conservation task - scrub bashing

Would you like to play a part in restoring and enhancing special wildlife sites around the New Forest?

Come and volunteer with us to remove invasive scrub from important species-rich grasslands and heathlands.

You will be spending the day using hand tools to remove invasive scrub. Training on use of tools will be provided. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us from 10am until 4pm in Winsor.

Bring: Lunch, water, sturdy footwear, warm clothes and waterproofs (and if you have them: gardening gloves, loppers and bow saw. Otherwise these will be provided).

This practical conservation task is part of our Nature’s Stepping Stones Project which is working with landowners to restore grassland, heathland and wetland on privately owned land. It is one of many projects within the Our Past, Our Future Landscape Partnership Scheme.

Children can get inspired by finding some of our special doors in the Gardens and then make their own design.

This is simple and fun children's activity - drop into the Bug Barn any time from 11am on the day you have booked to decorate your own fairy door template.

Last visit time is 3pm.

£3.50 per child for advance bookings, plus normal Garden entrance also applies.

Payment on the day £3.75 subject to availability. Free drink and biscuit included in the price.
