Date: 11 March 2013

Location: Plaitford Village Hall, Salisbury Road, Plaitford, Romsey, SO51 6EE

Come along to find out more about a new project starting on the River Blackwater to map and control the invasive non-native Himalayan balsam, and how you can get involved.

The Community Wildlife Plans Project is working with landowners and community groups along the river to find out where Himalayan balsam occurs and to support ongoing work to clear the banks of this invasive non-native plant.

There will be a talk from Catherine Chatters, the New Forest Non-native plants officer, and an opportunity to discuss the work planned for 2013 on the River Blackwater.

For more details contact Angela Peters, of the Community Wildlife Plans Project, on 01590 646654 or 07880 197351, or email

We are a friendly, unique group in The New Forest for Babies and Young Children aged 3 months to 3 years.

Heuristic Play is a simple approach to help babies and young children learn. The approach uses natural and household objects presented to babies and children so they can experiment and discover independently. Heuristic Play is completely child led!

We have a small outside space too, so we can take our exploration into the fresh air! Don't forget to bring some extra warm clothes.

There will lots of play and exploration and time for tea too. £4 per child. We look forward to seeing you!
