Nfnpa arts fest 2017 for events

Date: 17 June 2017

Location: Countryside Education Trust Treehouse

Time: 10:00 - 15:00

Cost: Free

The Countryside Education Trust is launching the Tremendous Trees Trail, celebrating the diversity of trees within ancient deciduous woodland through family-friendly activities.

Activities will surround some of our special trees, including a yew believed to be 1000 years old!

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn fire lighting, try out pole building, draw with charcoal from a charcoal burn, eat from a woodland salad bar, match eggs to nests, basket weave, see long bows in action, guess which creatures live in particular trees and listen to stories inspired by the woods.

There will be a trail of poetry and prose through the woods, a photography and schoolchildren’s art exhibition. There is a great café on site.

The launch of a new anthology of poetry, The Tree Line, with contributing poets reading, including Gillian Clarke, National Poet of Wales (2008-2016), will take place at 2pm. Free, no booking required.

Location: Countryside Education Trust’s Treehouse Classrooms, Beaulieu – enter via the National Motor Museum carpark and follow the signs for the Tremendous Tree Trail. Full details at www.cet.org.uk.

Cost: parking and entry is free.

This event is part of the New Forest Arts Festival 2017.
