The 6th annual Lymington Boat Jumble in aid of 9th Lymington Sea Scout group is to be held on Saturday 3rd March 2018.

Are you looking to buy or sell... Boats and dinghie, kayaks and canoes, sups and surf boards, sailing gear for children and adults, buoyancy aids and lifejackets, wetsuits and rash vests, boots and dry bags, aterproofs and any other yacht/boat jumble you have lying around? (Including spare fenders, cleats, bits of rope).

Items can either be donated to 9th Lymington Sea Scout Group or sold on a commission basis as follows. Bring your own camera, whether it is a digital SLR, bridge or compact camera and learn how to use the functions and settings you will need to improve your photography.

Your tutor John Combes is an experienced wildlife photographer and lecturer will teach you about the equipment and techniques used by nature photographers from the basics up including:

  • Exposure
  • Focal Length
  • Camera Settings
  • The technology and techniques used in nature photography.

After the indoor session you will get a chance to practise what you have learned by taking photographs round our Blashford Lakes reserve near Ringwood and take part in an informal and constructive review of the images in an indoor session at the end of the day.

Bushcraft Introduction Weekend

Spend a fun weekend immersed in the world of bushcraft and learn survival techniques on our weekend bushcraft course

On this two day, one night course you will learn and practice:

  • Fire lighting techniques
  • Erecting natural and manmade shelters
  • Cordage and pot hanger making
  • Meat preparation and outdoor cooking 
  • Knife safety and sharpening 
  • Edible and medicinal plant ID.

We will provide an array of shelters for you to sleep in – some natural which we will make together and some manmade.

If you would like to bring your own shelter/tent then please feel free to do so and you will have time to put it up throughout the day.

Canoe Easter Egg Hunt

Based in the heart of the Beaulieu Estate at our woodland activity site, your children will get the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends all under the supervision of our experienced activity instructors. The group will begin the day learning bushcraft skills such as foraging and shelter building, before testing their aim with a bow at our Archery range. After refuelling for Lunch, we'll spend an afternoon swinging from the trees on our ropes course.

Our Holiday Adventure Days make the perfect school holiday activity for children aged 8-14 years. For 1-3 children get in touch to register your interest in a date. Bushcraft Survivor

Walk for Hope 2018

Join our 10 or 20 mile sponsored walk and celebrate those who have survived cancer, inspire those recently diagnosed and support local families in your community.

A sponsored walk taking place in the New Forest National Park, at Burley on Sunday 10 June 2018. You can choose a 10 or 20 mile challenge and our scenic route will give you some of the best views of New Forest woodland. On the day the route will be fully marshalled with toilets, first aid and supporters at various points along the way. There will also be a well deserved medal and refreshments at the finish line.
