Aren't Birds Brilliant! In the New Forest

fund grant £19,909
total project costs £63,323 (30% of total)
This project will provide a visual and interpretive experience of the New Forest birds of prey and deliver key messages about other threatened forest species and habitats, particularly ground-nesting birds. A viewing station will be set up from April to September at the Reptile Centre, showing live images from the nests of birds of prey and showing a specially-made DVD on the plight of ground-nesting birds. The station will be staffed on a daily basis by trained project volunteers who will provide important face-to-face interpretation. Images will also feature on partners' websites. This project is targeted at people already visiting the New Forest (and local people) rather than attracting new ones from outside.
