Future Matters

Your chance to shape the future

What issues does the New Forest face?

What options are there for tackling them?

Get involved

Do you know and love the New Forest? Do you have views on how it should be in years to come? Are you concerned about improving the quality of life of our communities? Do you have views on improving the local economy and meeting housing needs? This is your chance to get involved in these and many more issues facing the New Forest and in helping to influence the future.

In the Response Paper (CLOSED) and accompanying Issues Paper you will find all you need to take part. There is an explanation of who is asking the questions and why, and what they will do with your views. To start you thinking there is information about what makes the New Forest special and some of the challenges we are facing. Your opinions on how they should be tackled are crucial.

What is 'the New Forest'?

For the purposes of this consultation, 'the New Forest' means all of New Forest District and the New Forest National Park, which includes small parts of Wiltshire at its northern edge.

Who is asking the questions and why?

This is one consultation, but there are three partners behind it: the New Forest Local Strategic Partnership, New Forest District Council and the New Forest National Park Authority.

Each of these partners needs your views to shape the issues and options that determine future plans and work in the New Forest. They have come together to ask you their questions in one place at one time, rather than launching three separate consultations. As well as making it easier for you to give your views, this approach will also highlight issues on which the partners can work together.

What happens to your views?

Your views will influence three important plans for the New Forest. They are outlined below. These plans will set out our policies for the future, what we will do and where we will look to you or your organisation to deliver solutions.

This consultation is your opportunity to help determine your environment and quality of life in the New Forest now and in the future.

Please tell us what you think. Your views matter to us.
