Future Matters

Key issues for the New Forest

We need your views on the most important issues facing the New Forest and the ways these could be tackled.

  • Are you concerned about improving the quality of life of local communities?
  • How should the quality of the natural environment be safeguarded?
  • Do you have views on improving the local economy and meeting housing needs?

Your opinions on these, and many other local issues, will help to influence future plans and priorities for the area which are being produced by New Forest District Council, the New Forest National Park Authority and the New Forest District Local Strategic Partnership.

To make it easier to read ‘Future Matters’ has been divided into three parts:

  • An Introduction explaining the purpose of the consultation in more detail, together with a summary of why the New Forest is so special and the major challenges it faces.
  • A Response Paper (CLOSED) or questionnaire, for you to give your views on a whole range of issues and ideas for addressing them.
  • An Issues Paper, which gives detailed background information about the issues, which you may wish to refer to when making your response.

Both the questions and the issues paper are divided into the same twelve topics.  Please feel free to answer all the questions on the response paper, or to concentrate only on the topics which are of particular interest to you.

The deadline for receiving all comments is 31 January 2007
