John Pemberton

John was born in Hampshire and chose to return to live in the New Forest twenty years ago.  His career was in the computer software industry, where over twenty five years he built a company with clients in more than 150 countries.  Since retiring in 2000 he has been involved in: managing the herd of farmed red deer and the livery stable on his farm, researching the history of the property within the Forest since medieval times, archaeological excavation, mentoring start-up and early stage technology companies, and being one of the founders of a group in the Forest encouraging transition to renewable energy and sustainable living. He is passionate about the preservation of the Forest and the enjoyment he gets from walking, cycling and riding horses in it.
