Maureen Holding
Maureen is married to Alan and has three adult children and five grandchildren. She has lived in Brockenhurst for almost 14 years and is a member of the Parish Council. She worked as a Business Studies teacher in secondary and further education for almost 20 years. She served as a School Governor at Boldre for three years. Maureen has been a District Councillor since 1999 and is the Cabinet member for Employment, Health and Wellbeing. She is a member of the Development Control and Industrial Relations Committees of the Council and has served on Housing and Appeals. She fought for the retention of local cottage hospitals and served for five years on the local Primary Care Trust Board until it moved to Winchester. She is now involved in Practice Based Commissioning, Public Health and Maternity Services. She is keenly interested in the preservation of the Forest and tourism- and how the two mix. Maureen’s hobbies including gardening and flower arranging; she attends Brockenhurst Flower Club and is a member of the RHS and Hampshire Gardens Trust.
