A date with nature in the New Forest

A date with nature returns this year in April. Join us at the New Forest Reptile Centre to see the action up close. Using the latest hi-tech gadgets, you'll again see right into the tree-top nests of the New Forest's wild birds of prey and watch their every move - from eggs hatching to food arriving and chicks leaving. Staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about Forest life, and you can find out how you can do your bit to help wildlife in the New Forest, and at home. You can also view the live nest-cam feed at the New forest Gateway website.

Where?

The video link will be at the Forestry Commission's New Forest Reptile Centre, where you can also see our six native reptiles, two miles south-west of Lyndhurst on the A35.

When and how much?

Daily from 1 April to 31 August 2010, between 10.00am and 4.30pm. Entry is free, but donations for parking are welcome.

A date with nature in the New Forest (previously called Aren’t birds brilliant!) is a partnership project between the National Park Authority, the RSPB, the Forestry Commission and Carnyx Wild. The project started in 2007 helped by a grant from the Authority's Sustainable Development Fund.
